What a wonderful weekend for Santa Rita Hills Lavender Farm! On Saturday we went to Ojai Valley Lavender Festival, and boy were we popular! So much so, we were only able to take one picture🤣. Oh well, maybe next time!

Harvesting the lavender at Santa Rita Hills Lavender Farm for the farmstead is so satisfying on a nice breezy afternoon…
Each plant we harvest equals about 5 - 7 lavender bundles, which we hang to dry in the farmstand.

Out on Santa Rita Hills Lavender harvesting some of the ladies, each of these plants we were able to get on average eight bundles! They’re pretty happy to get the haircut, and our farmstand is happy for the interior decoration.
It's so satisfying to see someone else come to harvest my lavender for me, so much easier 😁.
While some of the lavender went off to greener pastures, the rest of it we distilled into essential oil, some of it we have been using to add into our farmstand goods, but Foxen Canyon Soap also uses our oil for all their lavender soaps and bath Bombs, check it out here.

In preparation for the Santa Rita Hills Lavender Lavender Wreathmaking event, our floral designer is doing a dry run on some 10” and 12” wire frames behind our farmstand.
First we harvested the lavender then we make them into little bundles.
Next we take the bundles and use thin wire to hold the bundles to the wreath wire frame.
Then once we have tied all of the bundles to the frame we squeeze one more bundleintoIt's shaping up to be an amazing day! Sign up here if this looks like it'll be a fun time!
It's the end of the first week for Santa Rita Hills Lavender Farm's opening to the public, and people can’t get enough of our farm stand!

Everyone is looking good in the field now that we’re done with trimming!
Time to introduce you to our mobile weed abatement crew! This is Babka, Biscuit and Brioche, our three Cheviot miniature sheep. They are a little shy but they love to run and around and help tend to the field! Get a postcard of our ladies from the shop now!
